Al Wasi: The Love that Embraces All
People are angry, rightfully so.
I am not here to make claims about the depths of anyone’s pain.
I am here to acknowledge The Truth.
Beyond suffering is peace.
The only way is through,
towards You.
I ask that you never forget;
within forgetfulness is the sin of repetition.
You will repeat history,
if you forget you are a mystery,
that no amount of wealth or movement can explain.
Your impossibility is what creates the new.
Your trauma is not the power that moves through you.
You do not have to forget,
Choose to remember.
Choose to recollect all of the pieces of your memories,
you suppressed for fear of shattering.
You are not delicate glassware that must remain untouched.
You are The Cosmos,
Your fragments give birth to new galaxies,
each of which You are meant to explore.
You are within an all embracing Love,
a Love that only wants to know You more.
Reflections on Divine Love
“Love is, in fact an intensification of life, a completeness, a fullness, a wholeness of life. Life curves upward to a peak of intensity, a high point of value and meaning, at which all its latent creative possibility go into action and the person transcends himself or herself in encounter, response, and communion with another. It is for this that we came into the world — this communion of self-transcendence. We do not become fully human until we give ourselves to each other in love.” — Thomas Merton, Trappist Monk (OCSO)
“In the flush of love’s light / we dare be brave / and suddenly we see / that love costs all we are / and will ever be. / Yet it is only love which sets us free.” — Maya Angelou
“When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am speaking of the force which all the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life.” — Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“Love is from the infinite, and will remain until eternity. The seeker of love escapes the chains of birth and death. Tomorrow, when the resurrection comes, the heart that is not in love will fail the test.” — Rumi
