  • Searching_ (14:20)

    by Juniper Jones

In crafting affirmative documents for my archive, I began to consider how social media stored on the internet influences my relationship with my body. This curiosity led me to assemble a short film comprised of footage found on the internet. While working with the footage I considered how the decontextualization of imagery could altogether subvert or unearth a narrative that wasn't there prior. From that curiosity, I moved to assemble footage that pointed to the iconography of Blackness, queerness, masculinity, intimacy, movement, pornography, and familial dynamics with the overarching goal of answering a question for myself: what images subconsciously influence your understanding of sensuality? The resulting answer came in the form of a video with a runtime of 14:20 titled “Searching_”.

  • The Sun Seeker (15:08)

by Jacob Nadir Gray, Kristina Marie Garnett, and Marvin James

In the spirit of jazz cinema, The Sun Seeker is an ode to our collective inclination towards movement: the intuitive-ancestral type we call Telepathic Rhythms. Through the magic of music, memory, and movement, this visual poem captures the whimsical imaginations of youth coloring beyond the bounds of city life.

Stick around after the screening to chill and chat with other film fans until 5pm.
