THUH Film Incubator

Guides: Jacob Nadir Gray + Special Guests
Duration: Starting July 8th | Saturdays, 1-5pm | 4 Weeks
Format: In-Person at KAOS Network, 4343 Leimert Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008
Cost: $250.00

Over the course of four weeks, participants will both learn and implement 16mm filmmaking techniques in service of producing a short film. With the assistance of active filmmakers, this experience is designed both as a skill share (demonstration on loading, operating, and unloading a 16mm film camera) and as a production (developing and filming a short film). All participants are expected to fulfill a role during pre-production and during production of the film. The project will be limited to what participants are able to capture on ten minutes worth of film. A collection of supplemental reading materials to suggest alternative approaches to filmmaking will be available to check out for all participants. Each session will focus on a different component (equipment, story/concept, production, editing). Participants are encouraged to engage with the reading materials on their own accord.
