A workshop examining how ideological organizing fuels social movements and the role of propaganda in making ideologies contagious. This collective learning experience will explore the history of propaganda, how it’s been utilized by people to shape social change, as well as by governments to maintain social order. Our intention is to bring students, organizers, and artists into conversation to create a fuller understanding of how communities may share physical, intellectual, and emotional space within local organizing efforts.

The workshop will be guided by Marvin James and is open to the public care of the ITS-IN-SCOPE Freedom Institute. The workshop is available in partnership with Dr. Marilyn Grell-Brisk’s ‘Organizing in the 21st Century’ course at Pitzer College within the Organizational Studies Field Group.

Open to public with RSVP | $5-50 donation encouraged
