A diasporic collective learning initiative that exists decidedly outside the confines of academia, higher education, and imperial school systems. Driven by the spirit of figuring it out together, our intuitive pedagogy creates conditions for collective dreaming in order to remember intuition and restore indigeneity.

Our 2023-2024 studio practice was organized as a seasonal, year-long residency experience that provides artists and archivists a framework and the resources to work interdependently and learn alongside one another while developing a holistic thesis presentation comprised of Self-produced research projects.

Beginning in September through an invitation and orientation process, a cohort of new and returning Studio Residents are organized into a season of collective study guided by our Intuitive Pedagogy alongside the Archive Caretaker Fellows.

We approach collective study and the ritual of re-membering as an initiation into one’s intuition, and recognize this as the first step in creative practice.
Continuing in December, a thesis briefing is facilitated as a retreat experience to orient the Studio Residents towards a focused research area for continued exploration through their respective creative practices.

We acknowledge wintertime as a season for incubation and create conditions for independent introspection as well as guided collective reflections.
Flowering and flowing into March, we celebrate spring through an assessment of abundance, the reviewing of research projects proposed by studio residents, and an allocation of resources towards production budgets.

We honor the springtime as a moment for planting seeds and approach it as a productive season where ideas may be cultivated and begin to take shape.
Culminating through June, July, and August, the studio residents presented their culminating thesis collection through a thesis exhibition experience in September 2024 at Moonwater Farm designed to hold space for extended community to intimately connect with our research findings and memory work.

We understand the summer season as a vibrant portal for solar energy ideal for birthing new worlds and nostalgic ways.
