A diasporic collective learning initiative that exists decidedly outside the confines of academia, higher education, and imperial school systems. Driven by the spirit of figuring it out together, our intuitive pedagogy creates conditions for collective dreaming in order to remember intuition and restore indigeneity.

The ITS-IN-SCOPE Archive Caretaker Fellowship was designed to empower intuition and reward the curiosity of local artists and archivists. The fellowship includes six months of collective learning, studio practice, and communal exhibition. Fellows explore our intuitive pedagogy and identity information to be shared and archived in an exhibition of material artifacts, visual essays, and audio records.

Piloted during the stay-at-home orders in autumn 2020, our first study group began through weekly online study sessions, guided by founding archive caretaker, Marvin James. In the new year, this fellowship cohort grounded itself in physical space through the opening of the Memoryhaus 555 space which anchored their studio practice by serving as the site for creative production and ultimately held space for the fellowship cohort’s culminating presentation in Spring 2021.
