I.E. To The World is a community exhibition expanding on ITS-IN-SCOPE's Telepathic Rhythms research thesis. This archival and artistic study aims to explore Black, Indigenous, and natural experiences of movement as it relates to the Inland Empire. This open call is seeking artworks and archival contributions across various mediums (material, written, visual, audio) from our creative community of artists and archivists.
Our research thesis, Telepathic Rhythms, aims to explore topics such as: migration, dance, kinesthetic learning, rhythms, borders, restricted movements, drum beats, jazz riffs, movements, Movements with a capital M, supply chains, art movements, intuitive knowings, and more.

This open call will accept submissions on a rolling basis through September 15, 2023. The upcoming exhibition will be open for 2 weeks, or more, beginning on a TBD date this fall.

Each presenting artist, archivist, and storyteller will retain up to 70% of the revenue generated from the sales of their works throughout the exhibition timeframe. The remaining 30% will be invested in the ITS-IN-SCOPE community archive and ongoing exhibition programming. There is no fee to apply or participate in the exhibition.

This exhibition is open to our community with a relationship to the Inland Empire and the surrounding neighborhoods. Artists, researchers, storytellers, and students 18 and older are encouraged to apply.

I’m not a visual artist can I still participate?
Of course! We’re just as interested in written research, material artifacts, or recorded audio submissions. And if you have something else in mind, sign-up and let’s figure it out.Is the art I upload in the sign-up going to be in the show?
Only if you want it to be, the sign-up is just an introduction. We invite you to upload past work to give us an example of your style.Can I make new work for this exhibition?

October 1. After you sign-up we will get all the details to you in a guidebook so you can understand the timeline and decide if this is something you can commit to.Do I have to sell my artwork?

This is for artists in relationship with the Inland Empire who have something to say about movement. The exhibition will be centering Black/Indigenous voices and is open to all.When is the exhibition happening?
