In partnership with the Pomona 4A’s we developed and installed the Library for Researching and Remembering at the Alliance Community Cultural Center. The physical space exists to support artists, researchers, students, and workers in re-membering intuition and indigenous histories to further our sovereignty. The space boasts a curated selection of over 300 titles, inclusive of artbooks, anthologies, isms, essays, poems, publications, reports, novels, guides, textbooks, and zines, as well as a cozy built environment featuring a research table and couch seating. This library was made to function as a quiet sanctuary within a bustling community center that may offer visitors new perspectives, ancestral histories, inspiration, and a site of celebration for Black and Indigenous creativity past and present.
