Jacob Nadir Gray is a person. He makes things often categorized as art. He comes from a lineage of educators, organizers, and entrepreneurs from Los Angeles, Chicago, and Bernice, Louisiana. He began playing saxophone and learning music theory when he was eight years old and has been awestruck by art and process ever since. He’s worked extensively as a film professional fulfilling roles such as production designer, set dec coordinator, and directing short films and music videos for artists such as B.Cool-Aid (Pink Siifu & Ahwlee) and Jairus Mozee. As the lead of his organization, Thuh, he has curated and produced two film festivals screening classic films such as Killer of Sheep and critically acclaimed pieces such as Faya Dayi, Showgirls of Pakistan, T, In Sudden Darkness, and Pier Kids. Thuh has also hosted comedy events and fostered intergenerational conversations between festival audiences and LA Rebellion filmmakers Charles Burnett, Ben Caldwell, and Alile Sharon Larkin. Aspiring shepherd.
