Developed by ITS-IN-SCOPE and housed at Legacy Library, the People’s Propaganda Printmaking Studio is an experimental public arts studio built to equip everyday folks with the tools and know-how to produce and disseminate their own propaganda. This space invites participants into an ethos of self-determination and post-perfect practice through open studio printmaking workshops spanning screen-printing, block printing, wheatpasting, cyanotype sun printing, and more.
The single-color screen-printing press, flash dryer, block printing toolkit, and a design archive of 30 screens are a fixture in the library offering anyone the opportunity to create your own propaganda - affirming both our creative capacity and our collective history through printmaking.
Studio Rental Policies
Studio rental is by reservation only, no walk-ins please. You may rent the studio if you’ve taken our screen-printing workshop with us or you already know how to print.
If you are coming to the studio for the first time, you can utilize our Assisted Time offering. This fixed-prie rental offers you one-on-one help in the studio to get your bearings in a new space, or assist with your first studio rental after taking our workshop.Assisted time is $70 for 2 hours. If your visit lasts longer than 2 hours, the rate will convert to our standard hourly rental for the remainder of your time.
